Wongi's interest in graffiti developed at a young age and for over twenty years he has watched the art form grow from virtual non-existence to a blossoming, pervasive creative influence across New Zealand.

Wongi has played a major role in transformation of graffiti art in Christchurch, through work as an exhibiting and commissioned artist, with work shown at Christchurch Arts Centre, Canterbury Museum, COCA Gallery, as well as hundreds of large scale murals across Christchurch City and beyond.

Known for his diverse range of styles, Wongi is a leader in New Zealand of technically challenging photoreal paintings, and for fun, loves the nostalgia of cartoon and comic book characters. Wongi's medium of choice is aerosol paint and he specialises in large scale murals with a focus on public works.
